“From the moment I learned that my ancestors were involved in the bloody labor revolt, known as the Fireburn, I've had a bit of an obsession. The story is one that begs to be told in so many different formats. I’ve shared the story of the Fireburn orally, as well as in writing, and it resonates with so many people, regardless of their background. Having written fictional books, I wanted to give audiences an opportunity to hear more about the Fireburn from a historical perspective, and from the mouths of Virgin Islanders. It's been a labor of love and I'm thrilled to have embarked on this journey that has been filled with so many beautiful people along the way.”

Angela is an award winning author and actress turned producer. She is based in South Florida and is passionate about storytelling.

“It has been a pleasure and an honor working as a producer on the Fireburn documentary. I immediately became invested in the story of these strong, powerful, and courageous black women of the “Fireburn” who fought against injustice and inequality and were willing to risk their lives in order for change to happen. In the 21st century, history continues to repeat itself as we continue to experience prejudices, biases, and inhumane treatment against black and brown people. This documentary will be a pivotal point in presenting to the world an educational story about the African diaspora in the Caribbean, in order for us to reflect and learn from our past and continually seek ongoing change for a better future.”

Marjorie Tingle is a Meisner trained actress and has worked as a producer on numerous independent films.

“Two years ago, Marjorie reached out to me regarding a project she was co-producing. When she told me about the Fireburn, and I met Angela, I immediately said “yes” to being a part of the production team. This project resonates with me because social injustice and empowerment are cross-community elements shared by the Black and Disability communities. Repetitive hard advocacy does lead to social change that educates all.”

Steven Tingus is a Los Angeles based producer and advocate for Disability communities and matters of social injustice. He tirelessly advocates for change and seeks to produce projects that are in alignment with his desire to bring more awareness on a global level.
